9-12th Grade Courses

ACT, SAT, and College Entrance Exams Math Preparation

Teacher: Ms. Tabitha Pena 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

Class Schedule: T.B.A.

Description: The goal of this class is to prepare students for the math sections of the SAT and math and science sections of the ACT test as well as an independent College Entrance exam. In addition to strengthening topics from algebra and geometry, students will become familiar with the format of the test and learn strategies to improve scores.

Much time will be devoted to developing testing strategies, refreshing algebra and geometry skills, solving real SAT and ACT problems, and practicing on simulated SAT, ACT. and entrance tests.

The objective is to use math as the problem-solving tool for which it was designed to achieve deeper understanding of each lesson and acquire a functioning knowledge of math for life-long use. Even if you never solve another equation after school, you will use these problem-solving strategies in your everyday life.

I help my students to work at a pace appropriate for their abilities. I believe there is no such thing as “behind in math.” You are where you are, for who you are, this moment. The question becomes, “Where do you want to go from here?”
